A fruity situation has occurred in Bali this week with a new bylaw being passed to protect the cultivation of locally grown fruit against sales from imported fruits.
The initiative effects both market stalls, restaurants and the tourism industry and will ensure that fresh local fruits are purchased and consumed. In Bali this is a big win for locals and also tourists who will benefit from eating fresh fruits that have been naturally ripened.
Popular fruits cultivated in Bali include mangoes, mangosteen, bananas, snakefruit, durian and pomelo.
